6th Annual Manning Rail Trail Bike Ride

The 6th Annual Vernonia to Manning Rail Trail Bike Ride will take place on September 21st, 2025, weather permitting.
If you would like to participate please fill out the form below to register. Car Pooling is strongly encouraged.

The ride is 18 miles from Vernonia to the Manning Trail Head (TH) with about 1000 feet of elevation gain. Shorter kid friendly options are available.

After the ride there will be a fellowship lunch. Shuttle vehicles will be needed to get those that drove to Vernonia back to their vehicles.

Bring: Bike Helmets, Water, Snacks for the ride, Sunscreen, a light jacket, lawn chairs and your lunch to enjoy at the Manning Trail Head and whatever you need for an enjoyable day. Shareable foods are always welcome.

Gathering Area/Lunch Location: Manning Trail Head is located at 20120 NW Pihl Rd, Manning OR. The Trail Head sign is posted on Hwy 26. If you get to the Dairy Queen you missed it.

 

The Plan:

  1. “Gather" at the Manning TH by 8:30 AM.
  2. Establish a shuttle plan to get all bikes and riders to Vernonia.
  3. Leave Manning by 8:45 AM. Travel time from Manning TH to Vernonia is 25-30 minutes.
  4. All riders need to be at Vernonia Trail Head by 9:15 AM. The Blast off location in Vernonia may need to be adjusted due to possible Construction at the American Legion Hall TrailHead parking area.
  5. Prayer, Safety Briefing, and Group Bike Blast off is planned for 9:30 AM.
  6. Lunch and Fellowship at 1:30 at the Manning TH - or when everyone arrives.
    NOTE: There are limited picnic tables (2) at the Manning Trail Head so bring lawn chairs. Food and lawn chairs should be left in the Vehicles that stay parked at the Manning TH during the ride unless you want to carry it with you.
  7. Participants head for home after food and fellowship.
  8. Volunteers Requested to Shuttle Vernonia Drivers back to their vehicles.
