Everyone has a niche, an area of your existence in which you are gifted. Mine is electronics, with an extra splash of physics. If I get excited about some area of electronics or physics and I try to share it with others, everyone’s eyes glaze over and they start looking for the exits. I can count on one hand the number of individuals I have encountered who have the same gift… and are willing to open up about it. The good news is that I’m getting old and my mind is slowly turning to mush, making my thoughts less complicated and simpler to deal with.
This all reminds me of an older poem: “I like my bifocals, My dentures fit just fine, My hearing aid is perfect, But Lord, How I miss my mind!” When the time comes that each of us is either transformed or resurrected when the Lord Jesus returns, our renewed minds will be sharper than we can now imagine… and there won’t be even one thought with sin tainting it. Our love for our savior will begin to grow exponentially; our love for each other will become unfettered and sweet. The memory of darkness of this current world will fade away to nothing, but the bright light of Jesus will become for us brighter and brighter for eternity.
In the earth made new there won’t be any more lies, no more deception, no deceit, no despair, no hidden agendas, no more greed, no more hatred, no more evil, no more suffering, no more death. Our ability to absorb and remember events and interactions and details will remain crystal clear. Our energy levels and renewal will be incredible… my understanding is that we won’t even need sleep. We will be able to think about being somewhere and then just materialize there like the angels do. Our imaginations are too clouded and inferior now to even conceive of what Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit have in store for us.
“But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.” (1 Corinthians 2: 9 -11).
Hey, did you know that the empty space inside of every atom is essentially 100%? Hee hee.
